What is your favorite Montessori material and why?

Golden Bead Demonstration Tray and 45 Layout. Who would have thought you could introduce place value to children younger than 5? Dr. Montessori did and created a plethora of hands-on materials that help children develop a mental model of how math works.

What is your favorite Montessori material and why?

I love the Trinomial Cube! It presents the younger child with a concrete, puzzle-like, version of the quadratic equation and allows the older child to progress to abstration, solving the quadratic equation in elementary school.
